In this course Jody recommends two options for inks - the first option is for permanent inks available in most countries for which she provides formulas for all fitz levels. The second option is a colour matching semi-permanent ink system for students who wish to make a larger investment in paramedical tattooing and color matching simplicity. Either option will provide great results!
When camouflaging a light scar the artist is darkening the lighter scar to match the darker surrounding skin. This is done with a combination of diluted ink mixed to match the unique requirements of the client’s skin. When addressing dark scars the artist is neutralizing/lightening the dark scar to reduce it’s prominence (contrast) against the clients’ surrounding skin using specially formulated medical grade pigments to neutralize the dark appearance of the scars using principles of color theory.
